WHO I AM

I love travel, culture and cuisine, particularly if a beach is involved, and consider myself an amateur photographer. Painting and gardening are my preferred hobbies, otherwise I'm a huge fan of other people's art and design. In the evenings, you will likely find me listening to Audible books. I also advocate for mental health, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) and animals. Those that know me best describe me as: creative, driven, persistent, logical, self-directed, maintains clarity in thought and words, helps others reach their full potential, quickly reads a problem and determines a clearly articulated resolution, adept at applying knowledge; has a thirst and curiosity for new experiences; practical yet thinks entrepreneurially; scales concepts into programs.

WHERE I'VE BEEN

During my time at IBM, I've proactively sought out variety, change, and challenge. Spanning 5 different careers, I've been a collaborator, negotiator, influencer, intrapreneur and a consultant. The experience I gained as an ex-pat in Hong Kong influenced my penchant for international business relationships and complex assignments. To better understand the reality of small business owners, I launched an online boutique curating and reselling handmade items from women around the world. I continue to mentor various start-ups and entrepreneurs, and grow my own personal entrepreneurial experiences.

WHAT I DO

I don't do "status quo", instead I've achieved my greatest successes "creating something out of nothing". I'm always looking for new ways to accomplish a goal, think through a challenge, and add value. I believe there is a desirable quality in every change, even if that means just turning a view around. I've found that influence can be re-established and new opportunities explored when one brings a fresh perspective and a willingness to do what hasn't been done before. Collaborating with others brings every person's best talents to the table, so finding those talents is as important as leveraging them. I make decisions based on a thorough understanding of a situation using facts provided or researched.
